What’s hot: Live Demo sessions

The 2019 AAD Annual Meeting offers a number of live, interactive sessions that feature the nation’s leading experts and the latest “how-to’s.” The popular format sets the stage for a variety of topics, ranging from aesthetic dermatology to soft tissue fillers.

Here’s an overview of what you can look forward to:

  • Live Demonstration: The State of the Art of Aesthetic Dermatology (C003): This session will demonstrate techniques and treatment tips with cosmetic procedures, including assessing the aging face and treating various areas of the entire face from brow to neck and a few select non-facial areas. The session will include a discussion and demonstration of the optimal techniques using many of the FDA approved fillers, neuromodulators, deoxycholic acid, chemical peels, and microneedling.
  • Live Demonstration: Soft Tissue Augmentation and Neuromodulators—Simultaneous Cadaver Prosection and Live Patient Injections (C008): This session will demonstrate newly FDA-approved tools to augment existing nonsurgical rejuvenation. Attendees will have the opportunity to see live patient assessment and treatments along-side demonstration of pertinent anatomy on a dissected cadaver. Evolving techniques require injections at various tissue planes, therefore understanding anatomy is extremely important in order to avoid complications and maximize patient outcomes. The demonstrations will include augmentation with dermal fillers, treatment of submental fullness, and optimal use of neuromodulators.
  • Botulinum Toxin: Video Instruction and Live Panel Discussion (C019): This session will include video presentations highlighting both on-label and off-label uses of neuromodulators.
  • Soft Tissue Fillers: Video Instruction and Live Panel Discussion (C024): During this session, master injectors will review detailed anatomy, discuss advanced facial assessment, and formulate comprehensive facial treatment plans. Multiple, concise videos from global experts will demonstrate advanced techniques for pan facial rejuvenation, including needle techniques, cannulas, and emerging indications. The final portion of this course will be dedicated to a case-based panel discussion in which master injectors from around the world perform facial assessments, synthesize treatment plans, and discuss advanced injection techniques. Attendees will take home multiple pearls that can be put into clinical practice immediately.

As always, symposiums do not require registration, so mark your itineraries and be sure to take advantage of these opportunities.
