Practice your skills at “The Patient Encounter”

Hands-on workshops are always popular, and few are as successful as the long-running series “The Patient Encounter.” These sessions allow you to practice and receive feedback on various skills used during routine office visits, including communication, counseling, and agenda-setting. They include a one-on-one simulated clinical encounter with an actor-patient during which you can practice your skills. You are then provided feedback on the skills you exhibited.

It’s a rare opportunity for you to practice in a safe and realistic setting with feedback that invites you to reflect on the encounter and identify areas for improvement. Sessions include Breaking Bad News, Giving Feedback, Medication Management, The Difficult Patient, and Total Body Skin Exam. There are multiple ticketed options to participate in the workshops on Thursday and Friday.

The sessions will take place in Grand Ballroom CD North and have been approved by the American Board of Dermatology for up to 5 MOC Component 2 Self-Assessment credits and 0.5 CME credits.
