Meet the DermCare Team at free luncheon at the Marriott

The AAD is promoting its new DermCare Team on Friday, March 20, from noon to 1:30 in Yerba Buena Salon 7, Marriot Marquis San Francisco. And because it’s happening at lunchtime, the AAD is providing a free lunch! It’s the perfect opportunity to fill your stomach, and fill your mind with information about the AAD DermCare Team. You’ll also be able to meet Academy Leadership and have the opportunity to enroll your staff in the AAD DermCare Team.

The care team approach is being increasingly utilized by many physicians, including dermatologists. The care team team includes physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and medical assistants*. The Academy’s Board of Directors believes that the AAD has a responsibility to its physician members to take a more comprehensive approach in educating and training the dermatology care team.

For those Academy members who oversee a care team, there is potential to provide an unparalleled educational foundation only the AAD can deliver.

David M. Pariser, MD, chair of the AAD Dermatology Care Team Implementation Work Group, discusses the role DermCare Teams play in a dermatology practice in a video at

Individuals attending this event do not have to register or attend the Annual Meeting.  The event is free and will be accessible without event badges.

*Medical assistants are defined as professionals who care for dermatologic patients and have direct patient contact. It includes military medical personnel and Mohs histotechnicians, and excludes aestheticians, cosmetogists, and non-dermatologist physicians.
