Speakers to discuss impact of ACA on dermatology

From the use of electronic medical records to the increased use of quality measures, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has changed health care. A new session will look at other specific changes driven by the ACA and how they are affecting dermatology practices in the United States.

“Where Are We Now: Impact of Affordable Care Act On Dermatology” (F062) will feature five speakers discussing the financial implications of the ACA, insurance exchanges, accountable care organizations, narrow networks, and the AAD’s response to the ACA.

The session will be presented from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday in Room 2005 of Moscone West. Speakers will answer questions after presentations, and near the end of the session they will form a panel to answer more questions.

The topics for the session:

  • “Financing Obamacare”
  • “Insurance Exchanges”
  • “Accountable Care Organizations”
  • “Narrow Networks”
  • “American Academy of Dermatology Response”
