AAD and EADV team up to deliver top notch education

Henry W. Lim, MD, (left) and Luca Borradori, MD, are co-directors of a joint AAD-EADV symposium.

For the third year in a row, the Academy and the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) will join forces to lead a joint symposium. The symposium will be presented from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7 in Grand Ballroom EF. The session will be co-directed by Henry W. Lim, MD, and Luca Borradori, MD.

“The purpose of this symposium is to present clinically relevant topics by recognized experts from both sides of the Atlantic,” said Dr. Lim. “Two common and challenging conditions that practitioners encounter on a daily basis — urticaria and pruritus — will be discussed in detail.”

Experts from Europe and the United States will cover topics that are relevant to practicing clinicians. This ranges from practical approaches to urticaria and related disorders, evaluation and management of pruritus, management of hemangiomas, new developments in sarcoidosis and sexually transmitted infections, to recognition of common traveler infections and infestations.

“The Joint Symposium will promote an exchange of ideas between the two societies, increase the visibility and awareness of the two societies, further enhance knowledge of clinical dermatology and venereology, and expose attendees to differing schools of thought,” said Dr. Borradori.

Other invited speakers include Timothy G. Berger, MD; Clive Grattan, MD; Claudia Heller-Vitouch, MD; Emily Keimig, MD, MS; Christine Léauté-Labrè
ze; and Stefano Veraldi.
